Wrapping up this Training Block...

Run with your cat, Ryan Hall and his mind, 5 new shoes coming out in the fall to look out for, Bobby Curtis NYC blog, Caroline Rotich, Khalid Khannouchi going to India, long run double by Running Times, what does stretching really do?, Ed Whitlock is ridiculous - 3:15 marathon?!?!, NYC+Olympic Trials too much?, predicted record breaking in London 2012, fat to fit to fat.

Monday, October 17th - ~4 miles. Ran Big River group run with Tim and Megan. Kept it slow, but legs felt like crap. Chilly outside, but felt good. Got in roughly 4.25 in 41:25.

Tuesday, October 18th - 5 miles. Ran with Timmy after work in Forest Park. Freezing at first, but warmed up a mile into the run. Amazing how early it gets dark now, which is sad. Once again, legs felt sub par, but made it through ok. I think our total time was 44:25.

Wednesday, October 19th - 6 miles (2 up, 2x1 mile 1/2 marathon pace, 2 down). Early a.m. run with Crystal. Dark, drizzly, cold, and windy - not the most optimal conditions. Busted out the tights for the first time since last winter, and we ran to Ebbets in a nice whirlwind. Miles felt ok, but definitely a little more harder than it should have been. 1 minute rest in between reps, workout went by very quickly and got home pretty fast. Not sure of the warmup and cooldown splits, but I know they were fast because of the cold weather (Crystal had us at 7:38 pace coming in). Mile splits were: 6:29, 6:25.

Nothing but easy runs going in from this point. Good nutrition, good rest, and hopefully we are all feeling good for Sunday's big race!
